Best Sunday lunch in Clifton Bristol
By CliftonJim | Sunday, January 29, 2012, 11:35
It's Sunday today and I'm hungry, even more so as I'm thinking about where is the best restaurant in Clifton, Bristol for Sunday lunch?
-
Clifton Kitchen, Clifton, Bristol
-
The Lido restaurant, Clifton, Bristol
-
No. 4 Rodney Place, Clifton, Bristol
For meat eaters with a hearty appetite, try the Cow Shed on Whiteladies Road. Their portions are huge and they always use the best cuts of beef.
Not the traditional Sunday lunch, but the Clifton Sausage is a Bristol institution. Swap the meat and two veg for veg and a few different speciality sausages.
Clifton Kitchen is one of my favourite restaurants in Bristol. Foodie fact fans will be keen to know that it's on the site of Keith Floyd's first bistro.
For your food with a view, you could try the Avon Gorge Hotel. Or go to the Lido to work up an appetite with a swim, or be content just to watch the swimmers.
Another hidden-away spot for Sunday lunch is No. 4 Rodney Place, set in a Georgian mansion house with a secret garden at the rear and English garden at the front.
For simple pub grub, try the Alma Tavern, maybe combining it with a spot of theatre upstairs. For something more posh, try the Albion, Clifton's best gastro pub.
Roast beef with all the trimmings for me please. And a large glass of red wine.

We're spoilt for choice for Sunday lunch in Clifton. In the Village, don't forget Cote and Zazu's Kitchen, both on The Mall.
