Bristol Barracudas in action in last season's Brsitol Varsity game
The University of Bristol side, the Barracudas, take on the UWE Bullets on Sunday, February 12 (3pm) at the Clifton College Sports Ground in Beggars' Bush Lane.
The Bullets claimed last year's prize following a thrilling 20-14 overtime victory at UWE's home field.
The UWE side are again favourites to defend their title on the back of an undefeated season so far, but Baracuda skipper Chris Bullough said: "As far as the team are concerned we know that it does not matter what the occasion is or who we are playing, we go out onto that field to win. The first half of the season has been tough, but we have come back stronger than ever and are really looking forward to this season-defining game.
"This game is going to be huge for both teams, there is something special about playing football in front of lots of enthusiastic spectators.
"We hope the fans enjoy the spectacle we have laid on, a lot of thought has gone into providing the fans with the authentic American football experience."
Live play-by-play commentary will be provided and match officials will be 'miked up' to relay decisions directly to the crowd. Pre-match and half-time entertainment will be provided by the Bristol Jets and UWE Comets cheerleader squads.
A fully-licensed bar and refreshments will be available all day. Admission is free.
