GUITARISTS will gather in Bristol to join an international attempt to break the world record for the number of people performing together.

The musicians will play Jimi Hendrix's Hey Joe at the Polish Club on St Paul's Road, Clifton. They will play along with thousands of others in cities in Sweden, Norway, Italy, Germany, France and even Australia.

It will be the first time performers in the UK will have helped attempt the record.

The musicians hope to break the world record of 7,273, who performed together at the annual Thanks Jimi Festival in Wroclaw, Poland, in 2003.

The attempt takes place on Saturday, April 27, from 6pm at Dom Kombatanta SPK Polish Club on St Paul's Road in Clifton.

Admission is free and players of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate in the record attempt.
