ANDREW Sherborne has settled down well on this year's European Seniors Tour and he was the highest placed local player in the PGA Seniors' Championship at Slaley Hall last week.
The Kendleshire teaching professional shared 17th place to win £3,000 and continue a run of success that has taken him to 19th in the order of merit. He recovered from an opening 76 with rounds of 71 and 72.
The Players Club's Gordon Brand Jnr was 22nd on four over par and his club colleague George Ryall was 43rd on eight over par.
Paul Reed continued his recent run of good form by finishing in a tie for third place in last week's EuroPro Tour event at Burhill in Surrey. The Bristol and Clifton touring professional, winner at Galgorm Castle the previous week, finished five shots behind winner Billy Fowles (Wentworth).
After an opening 73, he came in with 69 and 72 for two-under-par 214. A cheque for £2,100 hoisted his winnings to £13,823 and he has risen to seventh in the order of merit.
Saltford's Shane Winstone, who missed the trip to Ireland the previous week, shared 17th on one over par. A first-round 76 proved expensive as he followed with 70 and 71.
He is 24th on the Order of Merit after winning £1,800 from four tournaments.
