Sloanes closure notice
A sign on the door informs that "the lease on the premises has been forfeited by the landlord by way of peaceable re-entry".
It is the end for a pub which has always felt rather out of place on Whiteladies Road, and is now just one more empty pub or bar on the street.
One former regular who lives nearby said: "In a way, it's a shame, as although it was rubbish, it was cheap and open until the early hours as a convenient last resort."
