Sneyd grab runners-up spot with emphatic win

SNEYD Park finished runners-up in Division I after battering Clifton Rockets 13-1.

Rockets scored first, but Sneyd turned the tables in devastating style to take the points. Matt Arnold led the way with four goals, while Ali Stuart, Ramez Hussain and Gareth Browning all scored twice.

Lawes Juniors lost 5-3 to champions Torpedo, who had Liam Rice (3), Erik Laabi and Derek Protheroe on the scoresheet. Olly Bendall replied twice for Lawes.

Sporting Greyhound edged out Jamaica Bell 1-0 thanks to a long-range drive by Mark Luke.

Portland OB threw away a 2-0 lead given to them by Tom Smith and Darren Cook to lose 3-2 against AFC Bohemia, while Retainers beat Cotswool 1-0 thanks to a 75th-minute winner from Darren Hoare.

Ashley were on top early on before slumping to a 4-3 defeat against Saints OB. Ian Cross netted twice for Ashley, while an own goal completed their tally.

Clifton St Vincents shared the spoils with bottom club Evergreen after taking the lead through Jay Kitgrave.

A Dave Morris strike earned Sneyd Park Reserves a 1-1 draw with Lion FC in the only Division II fixture of the weekend.

St Andrews finished runners-up to Saints OB Reserves in Division III after beating Bengal Tigers 5-3. Gary Brown scored twice, with Lyndon Glasson, Steve Sheppard and Gary Westlake also on target to clinch promotion.

Two Sam Crews strikes and an own goal saw Wellington Wanderers beat Torpedo A 3-2. Dan Frost hit both goals for Torpedo.

Clifton Rockets Reserves pipped Portland OB Reserves 2-1 thanks to Dave Gordon and an own goal. Rob Jarvis replied for Portland.

NCSF U United defeated champions Helios FC 4-3 in the shock result in Division IV. Scott Bullock and Tom Carter each struck twice for United.

Ollie Henshaw earned Tebby AFC Reserves a 1-1 draw with Conham Rangers.
