Expensive and Poor Service

I'm an exiled Yorkshireman and I'm used to things down here costing a bit more and the people generally rushing and the service being a little less personal. I went on a recommendation here and ordered my usual, which would cost £2.75 at home. Here it cost £4 for sausage, chips and peas!! Ok, but my mother always said "You get what you pay for". Not here. The boy serving (boy is the word) was far more interested in watching girls walking past the windows. He took my money and gave my change without even making eye contact. Then when I got home, it turned out he'd got the order wrong as well - charging me for things I didn't get (nice way to make your money!). The food itself is nothing special. They pop it in a paper bag, which breaks quickly if you have to carry it home and we all know fish'n'chips should come in newspaper anyway. It might have just been a bad night, but I won't be going back again any time soon to find out at that price!!

    Family Run Chip Shop

Fanatastic friendly service and the quality of the fish and chips are probably one of the highest in the South West. I have recently noticed it has been awarded 5 stars from the council for cleanliness and I think the quality is about there too...great to see they are supporting the Fish Fight and have sourced Mackerel too.

Great traditional fish and chip shop

One of the best chippies in Bristol. Fresh and tasty fish, crispy batter and yummy chips - good portions too! Though it can get busy and you never have to queue for too long. The shop is always nice and clean too. A bit pricey, but it is Clifton after all!
