Korfball is a fast-paced ball sport most commonly compared to netball and basketball. One major difference: it is one of the only truly mixed team sports in the world.
Korfball isn't widely known about but it's always growing in popularity and most people come to the club having never played before. On the bright side, this means we are well used to explaining the basics!! Our club is comprised of people who have been playing for years right down to those who started a couple of weeks ago, with people in between too so you're sure to find someone about your level (whatever that might be!).
It's a lot of fun, especially during these summer months when we go to numerous tournaments all over the country nearly every weekend, which means lots of opportunity for camping and BBQs.
In the summer we train on the Downs (at the top of Whiteladies Road, near the water tower and cafe) on Tuesday nights from 7pm. You can't miss us, just look for the big posts with yellow baskets on top! If you have them, football/astro boots are really useful for extra grip but don't worry if you don't. From September we will be returning to indoor training at Kingsdown Sports Centre, see our website for details (tinyurl.com/ofn42p).
Your first 2 sessions are free and after that it's just £2 per session (plus the price of a drink in the pub afterwards!).
Hope to see you soon!
