Engineers' House, The Promenade, Clifton
A classical stone bridge is being proposed for the top of Bridge Valley
Road on the Downs, to provide a safe crossing for pedestrians and cyclists.
Developed on a voluntary basis by UWE Bristol and in collaboration with Friends of the Downs and Avon Gorge (FODAG), the project is led by highly experienced practitioners and academics.
The bridge will offer unique training and career opportunities to revitalise
historical skills, along with practical experience for stonemasonry,
engineering researchers, artists and community involvement.
