Cornish food specialists Mullion Cove will be bringing a taste of Cornwall to health food specialist Wild Oats situated just off Whiteladies Road on Wednesday 18 August.

Mullion Cove will be giving out free samples of Cornish tea grown on the Tregothnan Estate, accompanied by their own freshly baked organic butter Cornish fairings for a delectable treat.

Some of you will recognise local business Mullion Cove as being one of the stalls at the celebrated Whiteladies Road Farmers Market where amongst other artisan Cornish products, their traditional Cornish fairings have become extremely popular.

What is a Cornish fairing?

A fairing is a sweet spiced biscuit that is predominately ginger in flavour. They are usually both crunchy and chewy and often have cracks on the top which appear during cooking. Fairings have been long associated with Cornwall and it is said their name originates from sweet ginger biscuits that were sold at fair and feast days in Cornwall.

Please join us for morning tea the Cornish way from 11am on Wednesday 18 August.
