SUN 13 FEB @ 4 - RICK PAYNE & THE BLUES COWBOYS
Delta, Chicago and West Coast blues centred around the slide work of Rick Payne and the pyrotechnic soloing of Cleve Berarey. Widely celebrated for delivering a passionate and lively set - often described as mix between Ry Cooder and Robert Cray.

TUES 15 FEB @ 9 - DAMON BROWN’S RHYTHM METHOD
Damon Brown - “the UK's finest straight ahead trumpet player" (Jack Massarik-Evening Standard) - brings his new heavyweight quintet to The Cori. Rooted in the sounds of Donald Byrd and Freddie Hubbard this band brings to life the rare grooves that have influenced much of our modern jazz and dance music. The irrepressible Mike Willox is on keys along with Thad Kelly on bass and Scott Hammond on drums.
SUN 20 FEB @ 4 - FREIGHT
Debut at The Cori from this new jazz quartet with original compositions drawing heavily from Thelonious Monk inspiration, and the fiery post-modern aptitude of John Coltrane. Pianist Martin Jenkins, composer of FREIGHT’s original material, is teamed up with the heavy tenor and soprano sax playing of Craig Crofton, the dynamic drumming of Richard Laws, and the rhythmical assured upright-bass playing of Greg Cordez. FREIGHT is a “beguilingly original addition to the Bristol jazz scene” (Tony Benjamin - Venue Magazine).
TUES 22 FEB @ 9 - MOSCOW DRUG CLUB
Brilliant and unique … “a curious musical place where you’ll hear a mix of 1930's Berlin cabaret; hot Club de France; New Orleans funeral parade, and gypsy campfire songs from Denny Ilett and Dave Archer, guitars; John Pearce, violin; Andy Crowdy, double bass, and Katya Gorrie, vox/percussion.”
SUN 27 FEB @ 4 - JOHN PEARCE
Extra-ordinarily gifted violinist John Pearce with Dave Newton, keys; Julian Bury, a very much in demand bass player on the London jazz circuit, and Ian Matthews on drums playing jazz standards and some of Dave’s own compositions.
TUES 1 MARCH @ 9 – SAFFRON MONKEY
Richie Blake, bass; Steve Hacking, saxes; Danny Cox, drums, and Cliff Moore, guitar with ‘a fine set of upbeat show-off music that the band deliver with irrepressible gusto!’ - Venue Magazine
SUN 6 MARCH @ 4 – JAMES MORTON

SUN 27 MARCH @ 4 – KEVIN FIGES 4TET
Kevin Figes, saxes; Jim Blomfield, piano; Riaan Vosloo, bass; Daisy Palmer (Goldfrapp/Chairfight), drums, with material from their new CD 'Hometime'.
MON 28 MARCH @ 9 – BRISTOL UNI4TET
As above.
TUES 29 MARCH @ 9 - PETE GAGE BAND
A 4-piece blues-powerhouse of a band playing a blend of tough Chicago flavoured blues, raw-edged soulful ballads, and rocking boogie. It's an energy packed set with Will Lunn's loose and free style on drums; Richie Blake's solid and inventive individual bass-style; Paul Hartshorn's expressive and searing guitar, a perfect compliment to his old side-kick, Pete Gage, who pounds the piano, and wails the blues. This is powerful stuff, and not to be missed!
