Bristol's Clifton Suspension Bridge has been closed by police

The Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol has been reopened after police were forced to close it earlier today to deal with an incident.

Three fire engines and police officers were called to the bridge, with some officers using ropes to scale down the side of the bridge.

Police also closed the A4 Portway below.

Shortly after 10am the Clifton Suspension Bridge and the Portway were reopened.

A woman involved in the police incident on the bridge was led away to safety.
