There is some good economic news to report this week for Whiteladies Road, as the former Big Bang restaurant site has been taken over and will open next month as The Cowshed.
The Big Bang, next to the Picture House, specialised in sausage dishes and opened in the summer of 2007.
But in August last year it was shut down, with owner Max Mason blaming the recession.
It was one of a number of restaurants and bars on the strip that fell victim to the recession last year, such as Quartier Vert and Henry J Bean.
Many of those sites have also been taken over and re-opened under different ownership in the past six months, as reported on Clifton People recently.
The Cowshed will be the latest new addition to one of the city’s busiest areas for bars and restaurants.
Not only does it mean an empty site will get used again, but the Cowshed is looking for staff, which will help to provide a few more jobs in the area.
Posters on the windows state that they are looking for bar, floor and kitchen staff and that CVs and all enquiries should be emailed to: info@thecowshedbristol.com
According to the posters the bar is due to open in late October.
