DoubleTree by Hilton Cadbury House
A luxury suite at the DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House has been put on standby for the night of April 29 with staff sworn to secrecy about who will be staying in the room.
It follows a visit by Lady Lois Farop to the hotel last week and who has the ancient title of “Official Bed Tester to the Queen”. The office dates from the time of Henry VIII when he appointed French courtier Lady Flora Pois to the post so that she could check out potential places for his trysts with his wives and mistresses.
Following Lady Lois Farop’s visit catering staff at the Marco Pierre White Restaurant have been asked to stay late on that evening to potentially serve food in the bedroom.
William and Kate Middleton, who will be spending her first night as a Princess on April 29, are keen to break with Royal protocol and want to get away from the partying in London in the early evening.
It is understood they will take a private jet from Bristol Airport on the morning of Saturday April 30 for a honeymoon in the sun. The fact that Cadbury House is just five minutes from Bristol Airport by helicopter is believed to have attracted them.
Prince William has his roots in the West County with his father living at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire and was keen to find a hotel in the region tucked away from the media.
Cadbury House has had many famous visitors before as its website www.cadburyhousebristol.co.uk shows. Among previous visitors have been Sven Goran Eriksson, darts legend Phil ”the power” Taylor and Stavros Flatley.
A spokesperson at the hotel said today: “How did you find out about that? I’m saying nothing. Please don’t put such unfounded rumours in the media it would ruin it. We never comment on these things as our guests want privacy.”

This would have been good though, wouldn't it? What other romantic treats could they have got up to in the West Country? Reckon this part of the world has got all they could possibly want from a honeymoon...

ReportI do love the idea of the future King of England spending his wedding night in Congresbury, and what better place indeed, but I can't help feeling the date of this posting is more than a hint to its plausibility, but I'll be happily proved wrong.
