If you saw something Martian looking crossing the road in Clifton on Tuesday afternoon, you can rest assured it wasn't the cider, this time.

The second series of the BBC cult-comedy-drama Being Human was making use of Edward's Garage on Alma Vale Road, just off Whiteladies, to film some scenes.

For the uninitiated, Being Human is about three twenty-somethings, two blokes and a girl, sharing a house in Bristol, except one guy is a vampire, another is a werewolf and the female housemate is a ghost, of course.

It started life on BBC Three as a pilot, and has been such a hit that the first series has been airing on BBC One lately.

Filming started on the second series in the middle of August, in Totterdown.

And on Tuesday the actors and crew made their way to Clifton.

The scenes being filmed featured one of the show's three stars Aidan Turner, who plays Mitchell, the vampire.

He looked to be keeping some pretty scary company as he popped in and out of the appropriately gothic-style garage building.

Clifton People managed to get a quick shot of him as he rolled a cigarette between takes, but he was a bit too busy to stop for a chat.
