Fifteen people are packing their bags for the other side of the world after snapping up £10 tickets to Australia.

The lucky jetsetters had camped out in Clifton since Sunday to be in with a chance of getting one of 150 tickets offered at only eight nationwide branches of STA Travel.

Many had endured rain and storms as they waited outside the Queens Road branch for the ticket sale early on Wednesday morning.

Helena Reeve, who lives in Southville, was number five in the queue. The 28-year-old is using her ticket to visit her sister in Sydney.

Stuart Lee, 18, travelled from London to be in with a chance. He said: "People continuously asked what we are queuing for, I think they thought we had the wrong side of the road for Banksy."

Branch manager Sonja Koelher said: "It was crazy here yesterday. All 145 tickets across the eight branches sold out in less than an hour."
