The Coronation Tap in Clifton is hosting its first ever music festival this weekend.

From midday to midnight, the popular pub in Sion Place will host the CoriFest, with live bands playing blues, jazz, soul and funk.

Artists playing include Saffron Monkey, the Blues Circus, Jazz Reggae Sessions and Catfish.

The mini festival is sponsored by Thatchers cider and PRS for Music, who earlier this year named the Coronation Tap as a finalist in the UK music pub of the year competition.

Ellis Rich, chairman of PRS for Music, said: "PRS for Music is supporting The CoriFest because it's a great example of how music can benefit pubs and the wider community.

"It also provides well-deserved recognition to a pub that has been a strong supporter of live music and given many up and coming artists a chance to play to a live audience for the first time.

"The recession has been hitting pubs hard and many are looking for new ways to attract the punters through the door.

"The CoriFest is a great example of using music to create an event to attract customers, differentiate from competitors and potentially influence their spending behaviour.

"The Coronation Tap has a proven track record of hosting brilliant live music events at their venues and we very are proud to support this event."
