I was just coming up the Portway last night, into the city, when I notice a huge hole in the wall along Bridge Valley Road. This was about 7.45pm.

It was near the bottom of the hill and looked like a car or something bigger may have hit it as hundreds of stones had fallen down the bank, but thankfully not onto the Portway itself.

As I went back up Bridge Valley Road itself, towards Clifton, you could see the damage more clearly from the road side.

There was no vehicle around or sign of an accident but there was a big orange plastic barrier in front of it, so clearly some workmen had been to the scene.

It made me wonder if it was a problem with the wall rather than something crashing into it.

Either way, I'd not heard anything about it and was wondering if anybody knows what happened.

I would have taken a pic but I was getting to the end of a cold wet run and didn't have a camera on me, and it was probably too dark and rainy to do it justice.
