Work has started on a major new development at Whiteladies Medical Centre (pictured) on Whatley Road.

The busy health centre, which serves a wide area of Clifton and Redland is having a coffee bar, pharmacy, conference rooms and new consulting rooms built on the ground floor.

This comes after alteration work on the front entrance earlier this year to install a lift and better access for the disabled.

There has also been refurbishment work in the main waiting room to install large video screens and an automated announcement system.

The work on the ground floor officially started yesterday, Monday Nov 16, and is due to go on for three months.

Services at the health centre are not expected to be effected while the work is going on.
