Clifton People, the free social media website for, well, Clifton people.
the hyper-local website for Clifton, is re-launching with a new look and focus from
Friday.
The site, which is free to use, has grown in popularity over
the past 12 months, with more than 400 registered members and several thousand
page views per week.
From Friday May 28 it will be stepping out with its new look
and will also be easier to view and to use.
But as a result of the relaunch the site will be down overnight Wednesday and possibly much of Thursday.
The focus has always been on Clifton but now we really want
to focus on the people of Clifton and invite more of you to post content on the
site yourselves.
is open source which means that as soon as you sign up, which is free, you can
post events, stories, pics, news, views and pretty much anything you want to on
the site - providing it doesn’t offend anybody of course.
It has the best business directory in the area which is
constantly being updated using real data, which means we actually check to see
what businesses have come and gone in Clifton, with reviews and ratings.
If you run a business or a charity and generate your own news,
or just have something to shout about, Clifton
People is the site for you to reach thousands of people in Clifton.
If you belong to a sports club, theatrical society, stitch
and bitch or any other club or society you can create your own group on the
site, and use it to update your members. Again, it’s all free.
If you would like me to come and see you to explain more
about the site and how it might benefit your organisation, I’d be happy to come
along for a chat and a cuppa. You may have your own website, by why not use
Clifton People to reach thousands more people?
The whole point of Clifton People is to reflect what is
happening in BS8, whether you live, work, study or just visit the area we want
to hear from you. Even if it’s just to tell us what kind of day you’re having.
The new look site should also be much easier to use with
more straight forward event listings and posting content is simple by clicking on
the appropriate icon and following the instructions. But if you have any
problems with anything on the site please email me at clifton@thelocalpeople.co.uk or
just give me a call on 07773 417 066.
You can also follow Clifton People on Twitter @cliftonpeople and there is a Facebook
group
I look forward to seeing you on the site.
Kind regards,
Simon Peevers
Clifton People community publisher.
