With a local cyclist recently being penalised for cycling too fast on College Road it has left many residents speculating as to what the expectations of cyclist are when using the road.

A blogger has gone to the extent as to carry out some first hand research and has since come to the conclusion that cyclist should be banned from important/busy roads.

The expectations of cyclist are only going to discourage more and more people to put down their bikes and pick up their car keys, but exactly is the solution?

This is where the £20 million the council has to spend on cycling initiatives should be able to help, there needs to be much more provision.
Cars are a much bigger threat to safety and cause many more problems with parking etc than bikes ever could, so it's really time to think smart about the two modes of transport being able to exist together.
I say this as a car owner but I do also own a bike.
I don't have any useful ideas for a solution by the way, I wish I did. I'm the sort who points out the problem, but doesn'tr really have anything more helpful to suggest, still awaiting inspiration.
