Fire rips through Tesco Express on Whiteladies Road

A fire has caused serious damage to Tesco Express on

Whiteladies Road today, Thursday.

Firefighters were called to the scene at about 6am and found

the store, , was well alight.

The roof of the store, which includes a Post Office branch, is believed to have fallen in.

Fortunately there are no reports of injuries to anybody in the store at the time.

Blackboy Hill was partially closed to traffic while firefighters

dealt with the blaze and Avon Fire Service is expected to be at the scene for

most of the day.

An investigation is set to begin into the cause of the fire

later today.
