Great photos - thanks. I live here and pay my sub although I rarely go into them as my kids are long grown up. However - I am on the RYC Gardens Committee and we are struggling to manage financially. Hence the Shakespeare and other fundraising events. If only all residents paid up we'd be in a better position!
Not many people realise that these gardens are not maintained or funded in any way by the Council. Their upkeep is entirely the joint responsibility of all property owners in RYC and York Gardens. An annual subscription has to be paid if you wish to use the gardens, in theory .. many use it without paying a penny. But there is no legal obligation to pay your sub! A nightmare scenario for us!
Thousands have had to be found to reinforce bulging retaining walls, and damage fro tree roots - alongside the constant maintenance.
If anyone has any helpful ideas about ways to improve the situation please let me know.
And if anyone living on RYC or York Gardens reads this - please pay your sub if you haven't already. Or check that your landlord has done so.

ReportCool set of photos. I love that garden but only get to use it once a year for the Shakespeare play.
