The Blackboy Inn is a good pub, which is a rarity in Clifton. A nice, homely feel is something you struggle to get amidst the trendy bars and restaurants along Whitelady's Road and Blackboy Hill so it's nice to find somewhere where everyone of all ages can feel welcome and sit and have a nice pint in an unpretentious atmosphere.

I've always liked the Black Boy Inn for its history and no nonsense approach to hospitality. By that I mean, it's a pub, for grown ups, not a bar serving mainly fizzy alco pops. It has been a fixture for centuries in that part of Clifton and as well as good range beers and ales it's a great place to watch the rugby or football. At the same time the service is spot on the welcome is warm, while retaining the atmosphere of a good old fashioned Clifton boozer.

Used to be my local pub. A 'proper' pub, with a traditional layout of 'lounge area', where you can relax, chat and read the paper, and 'bar area', where the sports tv's are located with a bit more life and energy. Serves and excellent pint of Stella and a good range of bar snacks. The staff are usually good for a laugh as well, a very friendly atmosphere.
