Teachers and Year 13 students at St. Katherine’s School in

Ham Green are overjoyed with this year’s A level results which are absolutely

outstanding.  The overall pass rate was 96%

and most impressively more than half of the grades awarded, 51%  were A or B grades.

With an extremely high pass rate coupled with an exceptional

number of top grades, the vast majority of students are extremely happy with

their results, and students who are especially smiling today are Dan Warner

Meanwell who achieved an A* in Product Design and A grades in English

Literature and History, and the Head Boy Adam Scott who similarly achieved an

A* in Further Mathematics and A grades in Mathematics and Physics. The Head

Girl, Sarah Gillam also has a terrific set of results with A grades in both Film

Studies and Media as well as a Distinction in Performing Arts.

Headteacher, Stephanie Quayle said “We are all absolutely

thrilled with this year’s results.  On

all measures, percentage pass rate, percentage of higher grades and average

point score per student ( 309 compared to 267 in 2009), these results are even

better than our very good results from last year.  They are indeed amongst our best results ever

at St. Katherine’s with 71% of results at A, B or C grades.  Our students deserve these excellent

results.  They have worked extremely hard

and they, their families and their teachers are very proud of their

achievements.  We wish them every success

in the future.”
