An exciting competition for art lovers has been launched by
-
What is your favourite view of Bristol? The Clifton Suspension Bridge could be one of them.
the organisers of a major exhibition at the Grant Bradley Gallery in
Bedminster.
The Exhibition, which runs until November 26, is the annual
fundraising art show for the West of England Multiple Sclerosis Centre,
currently based in Nailsea, and features some of the most talented artists in
the region.
As part of the event Bristolians are being given the
opportunity to see their own work on display as part of a multi-media artwork,
using the pictures of their favourite views in and around the city taken
through a window.
Artist Angie Kenber is exhibiting her own work in the show
which includes her views of Bristol, and she is now appealing to people in the
city to take a photograph of what they think is the best view in Bristol which
could end up in the final piece to go on show at the exhibition.
Natasha Jochman, from the Grant Bradley Gallery, said: "We
are offering this great opportunity to people in Bristol to send us a photo of
their favourite view through any window in or around Bristol.
"We really hope that people will let their imaginations run
wild as their favourite view does not have to be a typical landscape or a shot
of a recognised landmark, we are looking for something a bit more personal, a
view that might have some meaning to the person sending in the photo.
"We think Bristol has so many wonderful views and
landscapes, from the ancient gorge to the modern cityscapes, that our
competition will produce some really great images."
The artwork will be created by Angie Kenber, who is an
experienced painter working from BV Studios, Bedminster. During the last
few years she has exhibited widely in galleries and shows in London and Oxford,
as well as three times in the New Gallery, RWA, Bristol. Most recently
she has had a joint show at the Grant Bradley Gallery, and has been invited
back for a solo show in April 2012.
To have your picture included in the View of Bristol
artwork, please send your image, with your contact details on email to competition@grantbradleygallery.co.uk

The Exhibition is taking place in aid of the MS Therapy
Centre because it relies entirely on donations and the generosity of the public
to ensure it can provide the treatments and therapies that so many people with
MS in the Bristol area rely upon. Multiple Sclerosis directly affects about
1,700 people in the Greater Bristol area and the MS Therapy Centre already
helps 285 people, and membership continues to grow. The annual art show is a
key fundraising event for the charity.
