There might well be a tad more traffic in and around the area from mid October...

Upper Belgrave Road, which runs parallel to The Downs, will be closed for eight weeks - for part of the Bristol Resilience Scheme to be completed.

The whole project is due to be completed in the spring of 2013.

Bristol Water said: "The project will lay a new network that will allow us to move water from our northern sources into the heart of Bristol in the event of a loss of supply from our southern, Mendip based sources.

"Additionally, it will ensure we have an increased water supply available to meet the growth of residential and commercial developments in the North Bristol area.

"Our contracting partner May Gurney Ltd will be carrying out the work for us."

Work on Upper Belgrave Road will commence in mid October and will last for approximately 8 weeks. The road will be closed to traffic during this time.

More details about the whole project can be found at Bristol Water.
