Great pub with friendly staff and a good selection of lager and ale (anywhere that does Bath Ale Gem and Staropramen on tap is good with me!) The pub itself is two hundred years old with a cosy log fire to snuggle up to when it's cold outside and a beer garden to catch the sun when it's a little warmer. Plus, it's right next to a park so brilliant for kids. The food here is top-notch too - try the homemade salmon fishcakes, although they also do an excellent Sunday lunch.

The Lion is a community-based and family-run pub in Cliftonwood, Bristol.
Our historical pub is a warm and friendly, complete with a small beer garden to be enjoyed during the summer months.
We serve a wide range of alcoholic drinks including traditional ales and lagers on tap, bottled beers, wines and spirits, as well as a range of non-alcoholic soft drinks for the kids and designated drivers.
We also serve traditional English pub food including risotto, fishcakes and our notorious Sunday Roast, all of which is freshly prepared on the premises. Booking is advised for seating during the weekend.
The Lion has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and our bar staff are all friendly and knowledgeable about our food and drinks. We have a pub quiz on Wednesdays and an open mic night on Thursdays, and we also show sports such as football and rugby throughout the week.
We also offer private hire for events and parties. For more information please call 01172 443 688.
