Best Sunday lunch around

As a local to the area I often go to the Royal Oak and I am never disappointed. The food is excellent all the time but the Sunday lunches are the best in Bristol! Book to avoid being disappointed, as there can be no free tables on a busy day, I've learnt the hard way. It's brilliant for the kids as there are toys and a play area in the garden to keep them occupied. I definitely recommend this pub to everyone, whether you have kids or not.

Welcome to The Royal Oak – Gloucester Road's Friendly Family Pub

The Royal Oak is a warm and welcoming family pub found on Bristol's Gloucester Road. We serve a wide range of quality drinks and seasonal pub food in a relaxed and informal environment.

We have a wide selection of ales, lagers and ciders on draught, and all ales are Cask Marque approved. Along with our wide selection of wines, spirits and soft drinks you are truly spoiled for choice!

The Royal Oak underwent an extensive renovation in 2009 and quickly won recognition as the Evening Post's Pub of the Year. We have since worked to maintain these high standards, introducing an outdoor kitchen with wood fired pizza oven in 2012.

Our menus are seasonable, fresh and locally sourced. We serve lunch between 12 and 3pm and dinner between 6 and 10pm. We also serve our notorious Sunday Roast between 12 and 4pm on a Sunday – book now to avoid disappointment. We have a children's menu available throughout the day.

Our large beer garden is family friendly and contains children's play equipment and a lawned area perfect for the summer months.
