Hotel staff in sleep-out to help young homeless

A cold and uncomfortable night sleeping on the streets is awaiting a group of staff from Bristol's Marriott City Centre hotel.
The colleagues will get just a brief idea of what it's like to be without a roof over their heads when they spend the night in the open air at Bath Recreation Ground.
They will be part of the Amber Sleep Out on November 7, helping to raise awareness of homelessness among young people - as well as funds to support the work of the Amber Foundation.
James Laverick, director of operations at the Bristol Marriott City Centre, said: "Amber brings homeless young people back into employment and we hope to raise £1,000 for its work.
"There will be nine of us from Bristol and we will also be joined by eight colleagues from the Swansea Marriott."
The team has set up a Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/Marriott-Bristol-Sleep for donations.
Amber encourages unemployed homeless youngsters to sort out their problems and gain the confidence, motivation and skills to get and keep a job and accommodation.
The charity will provide entertainment during the sleep-out and a couple of members of Bath Rugby are expected to drop by to encourage the fund raisers.
