The atmosphere and the setting of the restaurant was lovely. I ordered a take-away and spent only a little time in the restaurant itself. Whilst in there the feeling of being in India was very much felt and I never went into the restaurant. Food - 9 Atmosphere - 8 Staff Friendless - 6 Staff Helpfulness - 8 Value for money - 9.5 (incontrovertably) The taste of the food was as elegantly beautiful as the setting of the restaurant. The sauce of the Dansak was moist and smooth. Spices just bursted out in my mouth as soon as they reached my tongue. The silky smoothness of the egg rice wonderfully complemented the spicy tastiness of the chicken dansak. Warm and very Indian. The warm tender potato was tatefully matched with the the crusty but smooth outer bread layer of the aloo parahata. A gorgeous meal full of spices which excited the tongue and smooth vegetables and meat which tasted delicious. Perhaps the best Indian restaurant in the city and county of Bristol. Eat here!

The Brunel Raj has for many years been regarded as the top Indian in the area and I think that their menu is one of the best for covering the whole of the Indian sub-continent. They have a selection of dishes from all over India and surrounding areas and I really enjoyed this about the place.
